Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup water (adjust as needed)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (plus extra for brushing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni (or other toppings like bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, oregano, and basil. Stir well until the dry ingredients are evenly mixed.
  3. Add the water and olive oil, mixing with a spoon or your hands until a dough forms. The dough should be soft but not sticky. Add more water or flour as needed.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Roll out the dough to about 0.5 cm thick and cut into squares of about 10 cm x 10 cm.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella, pepperoni, and Parmesan until well combined.
  7. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough square, being careful not to overfill.
  8. Fold the dough squares over by pulling the corners to the center and pressing the edges together to seal the filling inside.
  9. Place the filled rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush them with the beaten egg.
  10. Bake the pizza rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  11. Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving.
